Successful Fundraiser For Phil Murphy by The African Community

On Saturday, May 20 th , 2017, the group AFRICANS FOR PHIL MURPHY had a successful fundraiser for the Democratic Governor aspirant Phil Murphy at Ramadan Hotel in East Orange, New Jersey. African leaders across the state came out in good numbers to show their support to a candidate that has become the favorite in the African and the international community.

Phil Murphy showed appreciation to everyone who have supported his campaign with their time, money and effort since he declared his candidacy.

African Outreach Coordinator for the campaign Chief Charles Ugo Eke in his speech thanked the community for trusting his leadership by coming out to support the fundraiser. He thanked Rev. Derrick Green and Della Fischer for their support and belief in the Africans for Phil Murphy’s movement. 

“One thing I know for sure and can assure you all today is that Phil Murphy have the back of the community, he will be a great Governor for New Jersey” - Chief Charles Ugo Eke

Also echoing this was international leader Dominic Tamin “ We are in a dangerous time in our country due to activities coming from Washington, we need to elect someone that will be constitutional in the State of New Jersey, that person is Phil Murphy” – Dominic Tamin

“The African community is generally very skeptical about politicians due to past failed promises. So, the assurance of leaders in the community that are close to Phil Murphy has helped increase the community’s confidence in the candidate. Our people will come out on June 6 th to vote for Phil Murphy” – Hon. Olamide Davies Talabi There were other speakers who also addressed the audience. The Chairman of the Event Dr. Prince A.Z.K Adekoya spoke eloquently; Essex County freeholder President Britnee Timberlake and Dr. Obilo were Special Guest speakers.

This event won’t be possible without the committee members who contributed both their time and money; VIP guests and leaders in the community. This is the first time Africans have gone all out to endorse a State Governor in New Jersey. African for Phil Murphy continues to play a major role in the campaign in every aspect.
